The Best Luxury Hotel Awards 2024 were awarded in Milan, the prizes that celebrate the structures that have distinguished themselves for the excellence of their service, innovation, design, gastronomic offer and wellness offer, managerial direction and commitment to sustainability

 

The Best Luxury Hotel Awards 2024 were awarded in the splendid setting of the Principe di Savoia hotel in Milan. This is the award created by Teamwork Hospitality with the contribution of Elle Decor and EHMA (European Hotel Managers Association).

The event, organized with the contribution of HotelMyPassion, was hosted by journalist and entrepreneur Cristina Parodi.

The glamorous evening celebrated the excellence of Italian luxury hospitality in front of an audience of over 350 guests from the international hotel industry.

“Best Luxury Hotel Awards is more than an award. It is a tribute to the excellence, innovation and passion that drive luxury hospitality. Rewarding these hotels means valorizing the daily commitment that makes a stay experience unforgettable”, declared Mauro Santinato, president of Teamwork Hospitality.

This year the award has registered an extraordinary participation. In fact, it had 350 nominations, equal to 58% of the total of 5-star hotels in Italy. Lazio has confirmed itself as the region with the highest number of nominations, followed by Lombardy.

The winners of the 10 categories

  • Best New Opening: Borgo dei Conti Resort Relais &Chateaux in Boschetto Vecchio, for the beauty of the architectural project, the choice of materials and the profound references to Renaissance art. The resort has created a unique experience for lovers of beauty, enhancing the territorial identity. Antonello Buono, General Manager, collected the award presented by Fabio Formenti, CEO of Simmons, a leading global bedding brand.
  • Best Design: Helvetia& Bristol Firenze – Starhotels Collezione, which reopened its doors in 2021 after an extraordinary renovation. Thanks to the work of Florentine master craftsmen, the hotel has become an icon of Made in Italy hospitality. The General Manager of Helvetia& Bristol Federico Versari together with Elisabetta Fabri, President and CEO of Starhotels Group, collected the award presented by Martino Pedersoli, founder of Pedersoli, a company that supplies luxury linens and laundry services.
  • Best Restaurant: I Tenerumi at Therasia Resort Sea&Spa on Vulcano Island won for bringing contemporary plant-based cuisine to Vulcano Island, with a commitment to authenticity, respect for the environment and innovation. Umberto Trani, Co-General Manager, received the award from Alain Prost, Chairman and CEO of Ginori 1735, 100% Made in Italy porcelain manufacturers.
  • Best Breakfast: Portrait Milano stood out with a breakfast that combines beauty and passion for taste, thanks to a rich and varied buffet and the creativity of the executive pastry chef. Valeriano Antonioli, CEO of Lungarno Collection, collected the award presented by Nicola Fornasieri, International Key Account Director of Lavazza Group, a leading coffee company.
  • Best Bar: The bar of Aman Venice won the award for its extraordinary combination of drinks that are true works of art, offered in a unique location. The Bar Manager Antonio Ferrara with the Executive Assistant Manager Riccardo Cuomo, collected the award presented by Domenico Toni, Chief Business Officer of Distillerie Bonollo.
  • Best General Manager: Vincenzo Falcone of the Bvlgari Hotel Roma won for his visionary management and his ability to find the best in people and for people. The award was presented by Michelangelo Murano, Head of Sales Italy of Blastness, a technological partner for the business development of hospitality companies.
  • Best Service: The San Pietro in Positano was awarded for the uniqueness of its offer and the management of its staff, which make it a hotel of excellence recognized by guests as “favorite hotel in the world”. Vito Cinque, owner, collected the award presented by Dario Parizzi, Head of Operations of Adecco Italia.
  • Best Wellness & SPA: Adler Spa Resort Dolomiti in Ortisei was recognized as an international benchmark in wellness, thanks to its unique spa programs and impeccable hospitality. Daniela Zappelli, PR of the resort, collected the award presented by Alessandro Sciarrone, Sales Manager Hospitality of Technogym, world leader in the production of wellness and sports equipment.
  • Best Sustainability Program: Hotel La Perla Corvara was awarded for its commitment to social, environmental and economic sustainability, with particular attention to the protection of the Dolomites. Michil Costa, owner, collected the award presented by Thomas Tschimben, owner and managing director of PRIMA, a creative atelier of hotel amenities.
  • Best Innovation Technology: Grand Hotel Victoria in Menaggio won for creating an experience in which technology and hospitality blend perfectly, allowing for advanced management of rooms and services. Marco Montagnani, General Manager, collected the award presented by Gloria Armiri, Manager of the Tourism & Hospitality Division of Italian Exhibition Group, a trade fair group that organizes and hosts 48 events including TTG Travel Experience.

Special Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards

Lifetime Achievement Award: To Giuseppe Rossi and Paolo Lorenzoni for their extraordinary contributions to the hotel industry. The award, presented by Ezio Indiani, celebrated their successes in hotel management and leadership in international hospitality.

Special Award to Borgo Egnazia: for its impeccable representation of Italy during the G7 summit. Aldo Melpignano, owner, accepted the award presented by Andrea Dori of Dori Consulting.

Special Award to Mario Mancini: for his contribution to the development of the hospitality industry through editorial initiatives and innovative events. Mauro Santinato of Teamwork Hospitality presented the award.

A unique design for a prestigious award
Architect Giuliana Salmaso designed the award.
That is, a symbolic object inspired by the “stele”.

Composed of a burnished brass base and a travertine monolith, the award represents luxury, Italianness and hospitality. Ten different travertines, coming from Tuscan quarries, make each award unique, to underline the excellence of each winner.

The jury of the Best Luxury Hotel Awards 2024
The jury was composed of some of the most authoritative personalities in the luxury hospitality and design sector. For example, Mauro Santinato, President of Teamwork, and Magda Antonioli, Director of MET Bocconi. And Giacomo Bullo, Communication Manager of ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine.
Other jurors: Ezio Indiani, General Manager of the Hotel Principe di Savoia and EHMA Delegate, Andrea Grignaffini, Curator of the Guides of L’Espresso,. Also Alberto Paolo Schieppati, Editorial Director of Posh Places, Roberta Battocchio, Managing Director of Hearst Global Design.
Finally Carmela Colaiacovo, President of the Italian Association Confindustria Alberghi, Filip Boyen, Luxury Hospitality Advisor and Ambassador for Forbes Travel Guide and Erika Fay Nicole, CEO and Founder of EFNcommunication.
