Masseria Torre Maizza
- It is a place of extraordinary beauty where you can breathe the authentic essence of a wonderful land like Puglia;
- The intimate atmosphere. The concept of Masseria is like a ‘manor house’ and offers hospitality of great human warmth, reserves a refined and attentive service;
- The calm of the surrounding countryside, to admire the olive trees and lose our view on the horizon. Time seems to slow down and we regain contact with our deepest ‘I’.
- It looks like an Eden where enjoy the luxury of living a holiday in total naturalness, move barefoot on the fresh stone of Trani, take a walk among the olive trees or, simply laze around, letting yourself be dazzled by the sun on the rooftop or the pool sipping a Lecce coffee with tasty almond milk;
- At the end of the day, it is nice to return to the room, one of those with a fireplace, including linen, terracotta, carpets and warm bamboo furnishings. An incredible sense of tranquility and comfort embraces the soul.
Set off the beaten track, in Puglia’s picturesque area of Savelletri di Fasano only minutes away from the Adriatic coast, Masseria Torre Maizza is a renovated 16th-century farmhouse, typical of the site, lavishly draped in ivy and surrounded by centuries-old olive trees resembling natural sculptures.
It is a sophisticated retreat with the personalized hospitality of a dwelling and the accurate services of a luxurious 5-star hotel. In this magical and languid place, far from the chaos and frenzy of the cities, the gaze is free to sweep over the sea and the thick vegetation that fills and embraces the entire estate.
The bougainvillea is the queen of the house and guide to the pool – almost an ancient temple with a majestic colonnade – and the garden of Maestro Fulvio Pierangelini, host of the gastronomic experience, among lively, frank and clean flavors like this fantastic land. One of the many wonderful experiences of living in Masseria. For guests, the intimate 40 rooms and suites resort has been entirely renovated by Director of Design Olga Polizzi blending her colorful prints with local white linens and terracotta for a light and elegant feel with rustic tones. Heavy carpets and wicker furniture have been used throughout the suites, many of which have their own private patios and original fireplaces for an added touch of romance on chillier evenings. Each suite and room have an entirely personal character and sense of place. The new Suite Tower is located in the tower of the sixteenth-century farmhouse, with a sensational view of the Apulian countryside and the green-blue sea of the Adriatic.
At the heart of the resort is the local cuisine, artfully interpreted by Rocco Forte’s Creative Director of Food, Maestro Fulvio Pierangelini, as if it were a grand local home using a feast of natural products from the Masseria’s own gardens and orchard. Pierangelini’s artful menus are served by candlelight in the vaulted dining room or open air, whether in the gardens or under the stone colonnade surrounding the 20 metre pool. The resort offers a wealth of local tailor made experiences and excursions to coastal villages and historical towns, including the extraordinary Matera which is this year’s European Capital of Culture. The lazier romantics can stay at the resort and relax at the spa, play the 9-hole golf course, head down to the private beach club or simply enjoy each other and the heady feel of the Masseria.
