Hotel de Russie Roma
– When you enter the gates and advance a few steps, your gaze and your spirit are captured by the beauty of the grounds. A large window separates the gardens from the hall, and a setting of gorgeous floral compositions sets it off beautifully.
– You have a strong and immediate sense of having stepped into an exclusive place with a distinctive atmosphere, abounding in history but with a contemporary context where the elegance is never overstated.
– Staying in the fantastic Nijinsky Suite and organizing stellar dolce vita events on its enormous terrace at the end of the day.
– Dining in ‘Le Jardin de Russie’ restaurant, in the private garden on summer evenings, enjoying delicious dishes by candlelight. Ancient trees, palms and the blossoms of orange groves and rose gardens. The atmosphere is magical. Total pleasure allows you to forget the world outside.
Designed by Giuseppe Valadier in 1814, the hotel owes its name to the frequent visits of the representatives of the Imperial House of Russia and the Russian romantic painters that stayed here. After long refurbishment works, it was reopened in 2000 under the aegis of Rocco Forte Hotels, and was soon one of the most exclusive hotels in the Eternal city once again.
Hotel de Russie is located a stone’s throw from the most beautiful and celebrated Piazzas of Rome, Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna, and is a short stroll from the main shopping district. Thanks to its Secret Garden, which was also designed by Valadier in accordance with the fashion of the time, with driveways, resting areas and a watercourse that descends through three nymphaeums, it is an oasis of verdant quiet in the heart of the city.
The De Russie is an icon of minimalist luxury: its interior design is based on an eclectic philosophy which, by merging styles, becomes a ‘melting pot’ that is typical of the most modern and advanced societies. A new concept that is manifested in the choice of the complete re-styling, in the purely aesthetic appearance, and in the innovative use of the spaces.
The salons and bedrooms privilege extremely delicate and restful pastel shades, from green-azure to sand-ivory with sophisticated amethyst-hued nuances. The furnishings are sleek, some of Asian inspiration with fine black and orange lacquer work.
The bedrooms and suites have enchanting views over the garden, Piazza del Popolo and the famous Roman skyline.
