Fuorisalone 2022
- TOILETPAPER STREET dreamed with ORGANICS by Red Bull. It was the first street entirely transformed into a permanent public art installation. The architectures of via Balzaretti have become the pages of an ideal out-of-scale magazine, amplifying the visionary power of the TOILETPAPER images thanks to the new graphics Trumpets, Flowers with Holes and Roses.
The decoration was carried out by the All Out Lab architecture studio and by the decorators Maura Boldi, Alessandra Didone, Federica Ghio, Angelo Pennocchio,
- The Interior exhibition at the State of Milan inaugurated Milan Design Week 2022. It was the most important event of the Fuorisalone with over 50 designers and 40 amazing design installations. In fact, labyrinths of gardens, mirror towers, light installations and gigantic soft toys animated the internal and external spaces of the University of Milan and the Brera Botanical Garden. The imposing work designed by Piero Lissoni and built by Sanlorenzo, Fabbrica, dominated the center of the lawn of the main courtyard of the University of Milan. Through a tubular structure, similar to a scaffolding, it evoked the climb on a yacht.
- The Antonio Lupi company presented Aura and Astro, two freestanding bathroom sinks with a strong personality by Marco Piva. Like a slowly melting ice cube, the first. The second, as an immaterial presence that instead contains, circumscribes, governs the strength of the purifying element. They are made from a block of Cristalmood, an exclusive and absolutely eco-sustainable resin, which allows you to develop unique shapes and effects unthinkable with any other material.
- A Journey Inside is the concept that Arte Brotto has chosen to tell its novelties and its vision of interior design. A vision that looks to the future in the light of over 50 years of experience, in a synthesis of luxury, sustainability and personalization.
- LAGO has opened up to cryptocurrencies. Starting from the Salone del Mobile in the Milan stores, the products can be purchased with the main crypto wallets. The two flagship stores in Milan, Porta Nuova and Porta Romana, have integrated the main virtual currencies in their payment system: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), ShibaInu (SHIB), Binance Coin (BNB) and Solana (SOL).
- BAREL was present at the exhibition that the architect Simone Micheli organized on the occasion of the Milan Design Week. The well-established location of Hotel Regeneration, Officina Ventura 14, in the heart of Lambrate, has been transformed into a Temporary Restaurant. The opportunity to present the new collection of the architect Micheli. An armchair and a sofa dedicated to the outdoor world, but also a very innovative element, characterized by an amazing transversality of use. A metal screen, which can be used to delimit rooms, both inside and outside.
- On the occasion of Design Week 2022, designers from all over the world, schools, universities, international institutions and young students gathered at BASE for the second edition of “We Will Design”. It was an experimental laboratory of imagination and inclusion, in which design practices and experiences are a tool for reading – and sometimes resolving – the many contradictions of our present.
The events
- The event at the beginning of the week by Hanya Yanagihara, editor of T Magazine who transformed the garden of Villa Necchi Campiglio into an extraordinary location, was wonderful. In the garden and in the pool the Special Installations by Flaminia Veronesi.
- nhow Milano played with the opposition between the refinement of design and its industrial soul. It was therefore the stage for some of the most anticipated exhibitions of the Fuorisalone. Loewe, Capsula, MV Line and Innova are just some of the names that took part in the exhibition, giving life to an eccentric, explosive and exuberant chorus. In full “nhow style”.
- Armani / Bamboo Bar presented the Design Cocktail Collection, a menu of 8 drinks specially created to celebrate the Salone del Mobile. The cocktails, each complemented by a coordinated coaster, were an evocative journey through the founding themes and atmospheres that have always inspired Armani / Casa.
- The new Philipp Plein Italian Luxury Wallpaper collection by Zambaiti Parati – historic Italian company and international leader in wall coverings. An exclusive line characterized by elegance, luxury, refinement and quality.
- Colony, the Italian publisher of upholstery fabrics and wallpapers, presented the new Spring 2022i collection along with a selection of its most iconic creations. Kailash is a fine jacquard strié silk velvet whose decoration is inspired by Ikat, the traditional process for dyeing yarns from which designs with shaded outlines with a unique aesthetic originate. A highly sought after fabric. In fact, the frames with which to make it are very rare and have a production capacity of only 6-8 meters per day.
- The Tokyo Toilet TTT. The bathroom in the Duomo subway station was designed by the Tokyo artist collective SKWAT in collaboration with graphic designer Satoshi Machiguchi and Daidō Moriyama, representative of Japanese street photography. The photographer’s shots reproduced in large dimensions and dominated by the color red were distributed along a path that led passers-by to discover the space.
