Summer 2023 – Italy, with world-famous cities such as Milan, Venice, Verona, iconic places such as Lake Como and Puglia, the sun and the blue of Sicily, the culture of Madrid in Spain and Frankfurt in Germany, the suggestive canals of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, but also Mexico with the pulsating Cancun and Colombia with the colonial Bogotá: for those who want to travel this summer there are many new hotel addresses to choose from. Here are some so you don’t lose your compass.
Avani Hotels & Resorts, from Europe to South Africa
Are you a millennial-minded traveler and discerning guest who appreciates comfort and convenience while traveling in style this summer 2023? The perfect brand for you is Avani from the Minor Hotels chain. The Avani experience is modern and functional, characterized by intelligent, flexible and convivial spaces and an authentic passion for service. The utmost care is taken in the small details to ensure guests feel comfortable wherever they are, whether in urban hotels or beach resorts. Avani Hotels & Resorts will open two establishments, one in Spain and the other in Italy this month: Avani Alonso Martínez Madrid, with 101 rooms and Avani Palazzo Moscova Milan, with 65 rooms. Avani Rio Novo Venezia will also arrive during the summer, with 144 rooms.
In the coming months, the brand will also make its debut in Germany with the 256-room Avani Frankfurt City, while for the Netherlands we will have to wait another year, with the rebranding of a 163-room hotel in Amsterdam: Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam, located in one of the liveliest districts of the Dutch capital, which will join the brand’s portfolio in the second quarter of 2024. If your dream is to visit Latin America, here two additions to the Avani portfolio are planned by the end of 202 3 with two rebrandings. The 140-room Avani Cancun Airport hotel will arrive for the summer, followed in the winter by the 66-room Avani Royal Zona T Bogotá in Colombia.
Talea Collection and Puglia
Do you love authenticity, exclusivity and privacy and would you like to discover the less known corners of our South? Talea Collection has chosen the Val d’Itria and the Monopoli countryside for the Masseria Soluco: ideal for those who want to live an entirely Apulian experience, it boasts a panoramic salt water swimming pool among olive trees and centuries-old oaks and has 6 rooms, including 4 suites. The eighteenth-century chapel is of great impact.
Masseria Soluco, from the toponym “Cristo del Soluc”, is an ancient building complex which, after a long period of abandonment, was the subject of a careful recovery and conservative restoration project, conducted according to the “integrated conservation” approach, in order to preserve the identity of the genius loci. The farmhouse is framed by a hill surrounded by oak, olive, almond and pomegranate trees.
Sustainability and the environment with Lariohotels

VISTA Lake Como, inaugurated in June 2018, member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is the first and only 5-star luxury hotel in Como. The result of a careful renovation of a nineteenth-century Venetian-style building, in the elegant Piazza Cavour which directly overlooks Lake Como, the hotel has 18 suites, with custom-made furnishings created by the best realities of Italian craftsmanship. Inside, the Sottovoce restaurant stands out, one of the first rooftops in the city, led by executive chef Stefano Mattara.
VISTA Verona inaugurated in May 2022 is the second 5-star luxury property under the VISTA brand and the only hotel in Verona to have an indoor pool and a Spa Suite. In the heart of the city, it has 16 suites with an eclectic style. The jewel of the structure is the Spa, a true corner of well-being where you can treat yourself to a regenerating moment by choosing from the many services offered. VISTA Verona is also affiliated with Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Sicily’s soul with Gruppo Bulgarella in summer 2023
Sicily is the soul of the Bulgarella Group, which has inaugurated the Trapani Crystal Hotel together with the international B&B HOTELS chain. In the city center and a few steps from the port, the structure combines high-level hospitality and comfort with a strategic position to reach the Egadi Islands in just twenty minutes by boat. It has 70 spacious rooms and suites with an elegant and modern design; available in the superior, deluxe, executive and suite typologies, they have been designed and created following different furnishing themes. Indeed, the restyling of the structure took inspiration from the territory, from the art and culture that enrich the city, in a study of color that turns into a symphony of yellows and blues, inspired by sunny beaches, salt pools, the sea and pink flamingos.
The Bulgarella Group together with Essence Hotels also reopened the Cala La Luna Resort on 3 June, the first hotel in Sicily of the Omega Hospitality hotel chain. The Favignana resort within the national reserve of the Egadi Islands has undergone a restyling that has affected the entertainment, the green areas and the restaurant concept. For the summer season, a rich schedule of happenings and artistic performances of international standing has been planned, with modern and contemporary art exhibitions followed by meetings with the artists.
An area entirely dedicated to “en plein air” wellness has also been planned in the underground quarry of Cala La Luna, with a rich program of no-stress activities and a menu of massages to be booked at reception. The layout of the underground quarry is reminiscent of a Zen garden with themed music and scents.
