The new Stua da Legn restaurant brings haute veg cuisine to Livigno

It is the fine dining restaurant you don’t expect at over 1,800 meters above sea level. And it is a surprise that warms the heart and makes the palate of vegetarians and vegans happy. In fact, Stua da Legn is the first natural haute cuisine restaurant in Livigno, the little Tibet of the upper Valtellina which enchants in summer for the green and flowery pastures embraced by larches and surrounded by the Alps and in winter for the white expanses that become a paradise for winter sports lovers

Stua da Legn

Housed in the 4-star superior Hotel Lac Salin Spa & Mountain Resort of the Giacomelli family, the new Stua da Legn restaurant welcomes you in the warmth of a mountain environment, with wooden furnishings and paneling that recreate the atmosphere of a true Livigno stube.

And the cuisine proposed by chef Andrea Fugnanesi is also inspired by tradition. Born in 1995 and of Umbrian origins, Fugnanesi is a tireless enthusiast and transmits her passion to the young team and to creations that always valorise and interpret the local raw materials with freshness, including wild herbs, with absolute respect for the product.

Any examples? “As if it were pasta and potatoes”: mescafrancesca, cream of local potatoes, Bitto, oil with potato peels and Vitelotte potato chips and “Sentiero”: Riserva San Massimo risotto with cugol cream and dandelion.

Three generations of hospitality
Fugnanesi’s creativity is expressed not only in Sua da Legn but also in the other 6 restaurants in Lungolivigno, the Giacomelli group, including Stua Noa, the fine dining restaurant inside the Hotel Concordia, the hotel which at the beginning of the Senttà marked the family’s debut in the hotel business thanks to the entrepreneurial vision of Emilio Giacomelli.
Now the third generation is at the head of a group which, in addition to 5 hotels, includes as many high-end fashion stores along the pedestrian street of Livigno, a true shopping paradise (over 250 shops) which becomes particularly advantageous thanks to the nature of the area free of the destination.
Lungolivigno is truly a symbol: certainly of dedication to work but also of the valorization of the territory and the desire to preserve its authenticity. And, last but not least, investments in human resources. Anyone who crosses the threshold of a hotel, a restaurant or a boutique in Lungolivigno will be struck by the sincere courtesy of the staff. The unmistakable signal of how the family-run company truly is a best workplace.

Hotel Lac Salin: well-being at high altitude
A stay at the Hotel Lac Salin is an opportunity to be pampered. And not only by its gastronomic offer. The hotel located directly on the ski slopes has 62 large rooms, including 3 Spa Suites, and a Lac Salin Spa.

That is, an oasis of 1,200 square meters where you can relax and dedicate yourself to getting back into shape. As? Thanks to 2 relaxation rooms, a salt water swimming pool and one with a panoramic view and treatments that exploit the beneficial effects of Alpine herbs and the Mandira Alpine Care cosmetic line by Lungolivigno.

Livigno is ready for the Olympics
Not much left. In less than 2 years the eyes of the whole world will be focused on Livigno. In fact, the location will be one of the protagonists of the XXV Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games in 2026. It will be the venue where the most medals will be awarded, 26, and will host the freestyle and snowboard competitions.
