In fact, those who will travel aboard the iconic train will be able to stay in rooms full of history and treated with the utmost respect to preserve the craftsmanship of the 1920s and 1930s
Traveling on the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express has always been a dream. But from next year it will be even more so. Indeed Belmond presents 8 new sumptuous suites.
They will occupy 2 original carriages restored by expert French craftsmen and designers. How? Reinventing the spaces on board the train while maintaining the look and feel of the golden age of travel.
The design will immerse guests in an experience that combines the iconic history of the train and modern comfort. In addition to the charm of a historic cabin on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, the new suites have the added advantage of a private marble bathroom and a relaxation area for the day converted into a double bed or two single beds at night.
Landscape inspired design
The new suites celebrate the enchantment of the landscape that unfolds through the train windows. Starting from this inspiration, the French artisans have shaped the influences in 4 different designs. That is, La Campagne (the countryside), Les Montagnes (the mountains), Les Lacs (the lakes) and La Forêt (the forest).
Each suite by itself will make guests travel to different European scenarios through magnificent colors, patterns and textures. The sumptuous fabrics and furnishings come directly from celebrated Art Deco designers, such as Majorelle, Dufrene, Leleu, Rousseau, Prou and Lalique.
The interiors are a celebration of European landscapes and the richness of the surrounding nature. Here then are the cultivated plains with their expanses of vineyards, the ancient forests of central Europe, the soaring mountain ranges and the quiet glacial lakes.
The destinations of a dream trip
Venice Simplon-Orient-Express travels across Europe – Czech Republic (Prague), France (Paris and Cannes), Italy (Florence, Venice, Rome and Verona) Austria (Vienna and Innsbruck), Hungary (Budapest), Romania (Bucharest ), Switzerland (Geneva), Belgium (Brussels) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam) – March to November, plus the iconic Paris to Istanbul route once a year.
The main rate for suites is £ 5,500. This includes a 24-hour personal cabin steward, marble en-suite bathrooms, bespoke amenities, complimentary kimonos and slippers.
