Four Seasons Hotel Milano
One of the jewels of the Milan hôtellerie, temporarily closes to reappear with a new dress. In fact, starting from the beginning of the year, the Four Seasons Hotel Milano will start a complete renovation. The history of this hotel begins in the early 90s and carves out a place of honor within a former 15th century convent, becoming a symbol of Milanese luxury. To continue offering its guests an even higher level experience, all spaces will be renovated, from the common areas to the rooms, from the restaurant to the bar and the meeting rooms. The restyling is carried out by the architect Patricia Urquiola together with the landscape architect and agronomist Flavio Pollano who will be a new face to the wonderful internal garden. By spring, a new lobby and lounge will already be admired as well as a restaurant and bars with a redefined identity that will be made available to guests who can stay in peace without being disturbed by the continuation of the works.
San Domenico Palace, Taormina
The protagonist of the new 2021 openings is still Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts which together with Gruppo Statuto announces the renovation of the San Domenico Palace in Taormina. The Ionian Sea that kisses the bay of Taormina, the colors of Sicily, Etna – majestic – dominating the horizon. And the beauty of nature is added to that of the hotel, with its colorful gardens, a beach club and various experiences that tickle the palate, including the Principe Cerami restaurant which boasts two Michelin stars. This prestigious structure thus becomes the third Italian hotel under the Four Seasons brand, one of the most famous hotels in the world that can boast of having welcomed the likes of Oscar Wilde, Elizabeth Taylor and DH Lawrence, as well as having hosted, more recently, the G7. The renovation will make the atmosphere even more special, with 111 suites and a state-of-the-art spa with 7 treatment rooms and an indoor pool.
Il San Corrado, Noto
Relais & Châteaux presents 7 new 2021 openings, a common feature: the link with the territory and traditions. We could not miss a hotel in Italy, we are in the arms of Baroque Sicily, in Noto. Il San Corrado opens in February, located in an old farmhouse and noble residence, is surrounded by the scents and shades of the island, among olive and orange trees that paint the face of this town, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Watchwords, well-being and comfort. A unicum with nature, where villas and suites are completed with the magic of a Spa, the ideal place to regain energy thanks to treatments and organic products. Even fans of the most chic cuisine will not be disappointed, the dishes will be prepared by the starred chef Ciccio Sultano, who – like a love story – will tell Sicily through its flavors.
Villa Igiea, Palermo
One of the most beautiful Liberty villas in Palermo returns to its usual splendor. It is Villa Igiea, a new entry in the portfolio of Rocco Forte Hotels and renovated with the touch of the designers Olga Polizzi and Paolo Moschino. This Florio palace will reopen to the public in spring to return to make its guests dream with a total immersion in Made in Sicily elegance. The top of luxury can be reached with the Presidential Suite and with the Florio Suite, by booking one of the two fine accommodations, you are also entitled to a chauffeur service to reach the airport and the station. The touch of flavor is given by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, ready to tantalize the taste buds with his traditional cuisine. The view from the outdoor garden will leave you breathless, at the foot of Monte Pellegrino with a unique panorama: the sea and the whole city of Palermo.
Il Tornabuoni, Florence
A 5-star designed for an international clientele, a refined design born from the pencil of Andrea Auletta owned by the Gruppo AG Hotels. Il Tornabuoni is among the new 2021 openings: it has 63 rooms with attention to detail, a restaurant with a name that speaks for itself, ‘Il Magnifico Restaurant & Bistro’, a sincere tribute to the Tuscan gastronomic tradition. The atmosphere of a stately building that allows you to experience the magic of the Arno area and Ponte Vecchio, an outdoor area on the ground floor that crosses the harmony of the interior, giving intimacy and comfort. The chromatic choice recalls suggestions of ancient spas and historical memories, the terrace on the fourth floor welcomes the ‘Lucie Gourmet’ restaurant with refined international cuisine to be enjoyed in a space devoted to conviviality. What will surprise guests is the originality of the common areas, a dip in nature thanks to the exposed stone and beautiful flying butterflies.
Ca’ di Dio, Venice
The hôtellerie della Serenissima shines thanks to Ca ‘di Dio, a hotel from the Lifestyle collection of the luxury brand VOIhotels. They too choose the creative hand of Patricia Urquiola to resume the work that will lead to a renovation of the hotel signed by the Alpitour Group. An investment of 16 million euros to give the city of Venice something refined. A rediscovered charm for the historical residence not far from Piazza San Marco, the work of the sixteenth-century architect Jacopo Sansovino. The opening is scheduled for spring: 4 thousand square meters that will house 66 rooms and junior suites, two restaurants, a spa and two private gardens. Ca ‘di Dio has always represented a spearhead of lagoon hospitality with a historical evolution that leads it today to combine two souls: on the one hand the rigor and austerity of the original structure, on the other Venetian palaces. A contemporary look, a strong identity ready to be experienced by guests – especially international ones – who will want to discover its secrets and admire its highly sought-after details.
