In the picturesque town of Kufstein, in the Austrian Tyrol, there is a real gem for lovers. It is the smallest restaurant in the world. By candlelight and with a background of vinyl music, for five decades couples from all over the world have chosen this place to enjoy a romantic dinner
In Kufstein, the walk through the narrow Römerhofgasse with its half-timbered windows and narrow alleys is a kind of journey back in time.
Right in the heart of the city is the smallest restaurant in the world. In fact, Auracher Löchl only houses a table for 2 and a vinyl record player. And through a small door you can secretly access a bedroom.
It belongs to the historic Auracher Löchl restaurant. However, it enjoys a private position, away from customers, on the bridge arch overlooking Römerhofgasse street.
After dinner, the romantic magic continues in the 1920s atmosphere of Stollen 1930, the gin bar attached to the Auracher Löchl.
It exhibits the largest collection of gin in the world. In fact it is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
The magic of Kufsteinerland
Located in Austria, on the border with Bavaria, the Kufsteinerland is covered in snow in winter, the landscape resembles that of fairy tales.
The ingredients are all there: the frozen lakes, the snow-covered forests, the white mountains and the fortress overlooking Kufstein with its austere and fascinating winter dress.
This corner of Tyrol is a perfect mix to combine nature and the city: Kufstein is at the center of this Alpine paradise which offers both outdoor activities and culture and urban life. Here there are characteristic bars and restaurants to savor the typical but also innovative recipes of Tyrol.
You can also stroll through shops, boutiques and delightful shops under the large fortress, which can always be visited. To experience the past within its ancient walls which also house museums and the famous largest open-air organ in the world which echoes throughout the city at midday.
