The first designer hotel and congress centre in Milan won an award in the Travelling Experience category from the Scuola di Palo Alto for an innovative approach to how guests are welcomed
Enterprise Hotel, the Planetaria Hotels Group’s design hotel and congress centre at Corso Sempione Milan, reached a milestone along its path towards innovation by winning the Positive Business Award 2016 in the Travelling Experience category.
The award from the Scuola di Palo Alto, Italy’s leading non-academic Business School, came about to reward ‘positive’ businesses that innovate, distinguish themselves and grow along with their own resources, and it has rewarded the Enterprise Hotel for its #EnterprisEvolution project, for its ability to be avant-garde in the hotel hospitality industry.
The new project, which takes the concept of front desk reception to completely new levels by eliminating the counter, which the client sees as a barrier, and welcomes guests in an entirely new way at a welcome table, a large round table that changes the way hospitality is seen and makes it more sociable, more Italian. Not only, but the foyer was also eliminated. In its place is Sophia’s Living, an innovative space in which to unplug from the frantic pace of the city in a relaxing area where guests can read, enjoy a snack and even choose the music they want to hear with djset, which includes a daily music menu.
About Enterprise Hotel
Enterprise Hotel is the leading design hotel and congress centre in Milan. Inaugurated in 2002, Enterprise Hotel has always distinguished itself on the Milan hotel scene for its remarkable style and avant-garde flair. The 4-Star Superior hotel is the result of a carefully designed industrial recovery project directed by the architect Sofia Gioia Vedani, the CEO of the Planetaria Hotels Group, a subsidiary of Enterprise Hotels. The large hotel complex – 126 guest rooms of which 6 are junior suites and 2 are suites, 17 apartments with independent entrances, 6 meeting rooms, a restaurant, a panoramic spa, a fitness centre, garden bar and wine cellar – is an elegant ensemble of recovered industrial buildings. Where there is now a hotel, a century ago there was a large factory that housed the celebrated Settimana Enigmistica printing presses and, before that, a factory that made brand name radios. The industrial recovery project included a heightened sensitivity towards environmental issues and safeguarding. The Enterprise Hotel has adopted an environmental policy that is evident in on-going projects, activities and actions that have affected every department within the hotel: from revamping and the eco-transformation of the building’s systems to the use of internal eco-compatible methods and procedures and the creation of an overall atmosphere of eco-awareness among the staff, which is then shared with the hotel guests. As a result of this effort, the Enterprise Hotel was the first hotel in Milan to be certified by Certiquality as an EcoWorldHotel in 2015.
