Fatuaria is a boutique hotel in the countryside of Ostuni, in the middle of Valle d’Itria
Built in the first half of the nineteenth century, Fatuaria was originally intended as a peasant house with attached stores for grain and straw, a millstone, stalls for animals and jazzi and courtyards for the shelter of horses.
Today, after a careful restoration by the new owners, the farm has become a refined boutique hotel with 7 rooms between suites and junior suites. Furnished with originality and care, the rooms are different from one another through the inclusion of pieces of design, contemporary art, but also furniture and objects of rural life. Equipped with all the comforts and large private gardens for the exclusive use of guests of each room, they are deliberately without the television to allow a pleasant stay to all those who come here to relax and give moments of absolute tranquility.
The central areas of the farm have remained authentic, all in stone, with cement mortar floor pulled by hand, furnished with unique and sought after pieces. In the large jazzo, between the centuries-old dry-stone walls and the wood, the swimming pool has been positioned, a pool of salty water of black color that is integrated with the green of the lawn and the outcropping rock.
The small Fatuaria restaurant overlooks the carob court where breakfast is served during the summer and dinner in the evening. Small weddings and family celebrations are held here, organized as they once did. The cuisine is simple, made of traditional tastes, of vegetables harvested directly in the organic vegetable garden and genuine local products.
In the old farmyard, overlooking the valley, every year an unmissable event takes shape: the Fatuaria Arena Festival. Music, books and exhibitions of contemporary art are the protagonists of the summer evenings in the farm.
