#tiportiamolumbria, how to discover Umbria at home

We will travel again, and it’ll be amazing. In the meantime, we can enjoy all digital tours to visit some destinations, museums, hotels, etc. from home.

A message of hope comes from Umbria, thanks to a new tourist/gastronomic/social project of communication created by the Umbria Wine and Oil Routes. It’s called #tiportiamolumbria (We take Umbria to you) and is a video contest to support the promotion of the associated Umbrian farms, oil mills, accommodation facilities and restaurants.

Who works in the countryside never stops, nature makes us look to the future and is a ray of sunshine during this surreal spring that has come despite the critical moment due to the emergency that we are living.

Who wants to join this initiative, every day has the opportunity to spend 50 seconds in Umbria virtually plunging into the olive groves, vineyards, orchards, kitchens and cellars of this wonderful region of Italy.

The contest #tiportiamolumbria, how it worksThe contest #tiportiamolumbria has been organized by the Coordination of Umbria Wine and Oil Routes, in partnership with Umbria Extravergine Olive Oil DOP Route, Sagrantino Route, Etruscan Roman Wine Route, Cantico Wines Route, Trasimeno Hills Wines Route and Federazione Nazionale delle Strade dei Vini dell’Olio e dei Sapori d’Italia, Italian Federation of Wines Oil and Flavors of Italy.

Many voices all together to convey a clear and strong message: to invite everybody to come and visit these places as soon as possible.

The video contest has started on March 20th, every day at 3 p.m., videos will be available through the social platforms of Umbria Wine and Oil Routes, Facebook and Instagram. It’s a nice walk – staying seated on your couch! – to enjoy the beauty and the flavors of this land through the clips posted by people who live there.

These videos are shot by the companies engaged in this project to show the rural side of this territory, it’s a reportage of normal life in the countryside.

It’s a nice idea to remember that even if the world is temporary locked down, nature already woke up again and gifted us a fantastic blue sky and blossoms. So, in the meantime, we won’t forget that despite everything, life goes on.
