Aldo Werdin, general manager and managing director of the 5-star luxury Excelsior Palace Hotel in Rapallo, is one of the winners of Order of Merit 2022, the event dedicated to the bar industry created by Danilo Bellucci.
In fact, he was awarded the special mention “Magister Hospitalitatis” as a recognized magnificent rector of hotel dynamics and a profound connoisseur of the culture of hospitality.
The Order of Merit 2022 award is one of many accolades that punctuate Werdin’s successful professional career.
Originally from Bolzano, Aldo Werdin took over the reins of the Excelsior Palace Hotel in 2002, completely repositioning the structure and affiliating it to the Preferred Hotels circuit.
In 2012 he was entrusted with the role of Chief Executive Officer, consolidating himself at the head of the 3 group structures, Excelsior Palace, Excelsior Santa and Helios Hotel.
Today, among others, he is a Knight of the Italian Republic, President of Federalberghi Liguria, of the Academy of Tourism & Hospitality of Santa Margherita Ligure and director of Hospes, the center for tourism-hotel studies and for the development of the “Erminio Maggia” Institute ” of Stresa
The stages of success
Werdin joined CIGA Hotels at a very young age, where he held the position of Area Administrative Director, area manager for the Principe di Savoia, Duca, Palace and Diana hotels.
He faces a very delicate phase of corporate reorganization, also dealing with personnel management and relations with trade unions. With him, the company also began the computerization process of management control.
He moved to the general management of the legendary Grand Hotel Billia in Saint Vincent in 1986 managing the transition of the structure to 5 stars.
In 1988 he will take care of the management as attorney of all the structures of Bagaglino Hotels, with 11 hotel units between Venice, Madonna di Campiglio, Gardone Riviera and Porto Cervo.
He then moved on to GiVa Hotels, with the dual role of general manager for the inauguration of the Hotel Le Conchiglie in Riccione and commercial manager for the 4 structures of the group.
From 1994 he will move to Cogeta Palace Hotels, which later became Baglioni Hotels. In Verona, for the company, he will be director of the Due Torri, which by moving up to 5 stars will enter the international circuit The Leading Hotels of The World.
In 1998 he moved to Milan for the opening of the renovated Carlton Hotel, which, having relocated to 5 stars, also entered the Leading circuit already in 1999.
