An exciting new brand of luxury hôtellerie is officially launched in Milan, The Dedica Anthology
The Dedica Anthology, a niche brand with a distinct point of view, launches at a time when the global hotel industry and the luxury sector in particular are evolving, and an opportunity exists to challenge and reinvent the category, creating inspiring spaces and relaxed rituals that are consciously in rhythm with our guests’ contemporary lives.
Headquartered in Milan and based on a portfolio of seven distinctive properties in Italy and across Europe, The Dedica Anthology fuses a strong sense of place and heritage with a curated, contemporary attitude to hotel-keeping, intuitively centred around the guest experience.
Dedica is off to a strong start, with a robust financial platform from which to launch an ambitious plan of renovation and growth. Over the course of the next 30 months the group will invest a substantial renovation budget, focused on modern design, restoration and technology upgrades across our portfolio. Hotel Plaza in Nice and Palazzo Gaddi in Florence are currently closed and being transformed ready to welcome guests in early 2020.
The brand is led by Stephen Alden as CEO – renowned as a visionary hotelier and a successful builder of international luxury hotel brands. He has brought together a new senior management team of exceptional depth and talent, with whom – along with expert collaborations and strong marketing partnerships – he has launched The Dedica Anthology and is making fast progress taking it to the next level.
In tandem with the brand’s official debut comes the publication of Dedica Reading, the brand’s magazine that – through its design and content – exemplifies the classic/contemporary equilibrium inherent in The Dedica Anthology brand, whilst telling the stories of the hotels, their personalities and their world. This will be followed in spring 2019 with the creation of Dedica Design Studio in Milan, to provide artistic direction on the hotels’ visual aesthetic; and Dedica ‘for the Arts’, a platform which will oversee the restoration of the brand’s Renaissance palace in Florence, including paintings and frescoes from the School of Luca Giordano that are part of the building’s fabric.
The name ‘Dedica’ was chosen, based on its definition as an inscription, dedication or tribute, to represent the art of curated hotel-keeping, dedicated to the brand’s guests. ‘Anthology’ is the collection of stories represented by the hotels and their guests.
The Dedica Anthology is: Palazzo Naiadi in Rome, Palazzo Matteotti in Milan, Grand Hotel dei Dogi in Venice, New York Palace in Budapest, Carlo IV in Prague, Palazzo Gaddi in Florence and Hotel Plaza in Nice, with Hotel Bellini in Venice an associate property.
