The Charles Hotel begins 2017, its anniversary year, with 10 journeys of culinary discovery
The Charles Hotel, the Rocco Forte Hotel in Munich, has reason for celebration this year, as it marks its 10 year anniversary. On 7 October 2007, the 5 star superior hotel, situated between Munich’s Old Botanical Garden and the Königsplatz, opened its doors for the first time.
With an itinerary packed full of foodie highlights and exclusive experiences, Sophia’s Restaurant & Bar will be leading the celebration at the start of this anniversary year. Many different journeys of culinary discovery provide guests with excellent menus, choice wines and cocktail making classes hosted by the very best talents in the cooking world. Alongside first-class, international winemakers and Michelin star chefs, executive chef Michael Hüsken will take guests on a new culinary journey each month until November.
Wine connoisseurs can uncover the intricate skill of pairing food and wine whilst enjoying exceptional cuisine, with expert explanations from prolific winemakers of Germany. Expert bartender Timon Kaufmann will show guests how to create the most delicious coffees and cocktails in Sophia’s Bar, and champagne lovers can enjoy the champagne menu with oenologist Amelie Chatin. These culinary events bring a range of different cuisines to the heart of Munich – whether a Scottish experience with Michelin starred Chef Jeff Bland from Number One, Edinburgh, or Japanese dishes with Tohru Nakamura, The Charles Hotel will provide guests with exclusive experiences in celebration of this momentous anniversary.
