Four years of conservative restoration works and overall investment of 3.4 million euro, which involved the company Terme di San Giuliano Srl as much as the Municipality of San Giuliano and the Region of Tuscany, have resulted in the addition of the new Bagni di Levante spa centre in the Terme di San Giuliano.
The new centre, which extends and completes the well-being package in Bagni di Pisa Palace & Spa, the luxury five-star jewel in the crown of the Fonteverde Collection, is entirely dedicated to the realm of spa water – from more traditional treatments such as mud therapy or inhalations, in affiliation with the national health system, to the most innovative ones such as Watsu, which is shiatsu in water, or underwater massages.
The restyling works have re-distributed the spaces in this wing of the historic Leopoldine edifice, giving rise to a perfect blend of modernity, technology and history. The dominant element of the entire structure is the large thermal bath, the Bioaquam circuit, at the centre of the Sala del Pozzetto (Room of the Well), in a spectacular setting with original pilasters and arches. Beside it are the smaller baths, the Bagno di Mercurio or Thalaquam Pool, containing an 18% saline solution that is ideal for floating or enjoying relaxing treatments in, and the Bagno di Minerva with vigorous hydro-massage water jets. Then there is the Salidarium, the inviting bed of warm Mediterranean salt crystals, the new treatment cabins, and the new cutting-edge mud therapy department.
The mud used for the therapies here is first left to “mature” for at least 6 months in special vats so that it acquires all the physical and chemical properties that bestow its efficacy on it. The new features also include a dazzling relaxation area in the inner courtyard, inside an impressive retractable glass structure that can be accessed all year round, and especially a new entrance for non-resident guests with its own reception and dressing rooms. To celebrate its reopening, until 24 December, Bagni di Pisa Palace & Spa is offering 2 nights in a double room with buffet breakfast, 2 dinners in the Dei Lorena Restaurant, entry to the Salus per Aquam spa circuit (indoor and outdoor thermal pools, sauna, Turkish bath, new Bioaquam circuit and Bagno di Minerva with hydro-massage), use of the fully- equipped gym, medical-tutor consultation and guided morning walk (excluding Sundays), all for only 264 euro per person.
