Owned by the Friedland family for over 10 years, Villa Treville is an icon of luxury hospitality known throughout the world. It reached its maximum splendor under the ownership of Franco Zeffirelli. In fact, the director entrusted the project of the terraced gardens and spectacular halls to the famous pioneer architect of operatic mise-en-scéne Renzo Mongiardino.
At that time, countless stars of the caliber of Maria Callas, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Liza Minnelli, Leonard Bernstein and Rudolf Nureyev – personal friends of the Maestro – used to spend their holidays in Treville and take part in his dream parties.
To pay homage to the majesty of its past and the historical legacy of the Master of Italian cinema, Villa Treville is planning a series of initiatives from March to December.
In fact, the property will in fact integrate the already existing art collection which combines works by Calder with memorabilia and original sketches made by Zeffirelli for his most famous sets.
The food and wine proposal will also be integrated with dishes and cocktails inspired by the works and courses that Zeffirelli loved to serve at his parties.
