Decoration for the Christmas tree
To celebrate the start of the Christmas season, guests are invited to take part in the resort’s decorations on December 22nd. The magnificent Christmas tree will be embellished with marine-inspired elements. The décor will then reflect the entire natural color palette of the Ocean, with touches of blue, green and silver. After setting up, guests can enjoy a cocktail at the Sunset Pool Café, a show and a live DJ set from 10.30pm onwards.
Pool party
On December 23, Emerald invites to the Pool party, with the right social distancing, in the main pool. Sports fans can test their skills during the volleyball tournament. As night falls, there will be a show with live music in the background.
Christmas Eve at the beach
Families are invited to join the resort team at Water Sports Beach for one of the most evocative Christmas activities: watching the Christmas carol show as the sun plunges into the Indian Ocean. A change of scenery follows, with guests invited to attend the gala dinner at the exclusive restaurant of the Aqua restaurant resort, located a few steps from the sea.
Brunch on December 25 with Santa Claus
Santa Claus will make his spectacular arrival at Emerald on Christmas morning, joining guests for Christmas brunch at Aqua. From 6 pm adults are invited to a tasting of excellent wines, in the setting of the Sun Set Pool Café. The children, on the other hand, will be in the resort’s cinema with a nice ice cream, popcorn and marshmallows, in a barbecue organized for children.
The Maldivian evening
On December 27, the resort organizes a traditional Maldivian evening, including a live performance of Bodu Beru at the Aqua restaurant. On the 29th, however, the team will prepare an extraordinary Full Moon wine dinner (USD 150 per person) for those who wish to savor the menu on the water.
Countdown on the beach waiting for 2021
The end-of-year celebrations begin at 7pm, when Emerald will organize a cocktail evening on the beach and live music performances. Moving on to Aqua, guests will be impressed with Chef Aldo’s New Year’s Eve menu. To welcome 2021, guests and staff are invited to the Sunset Pool Café for the New Year’s Eve countdown with a glass of champagne.

Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa has a special offer underway. A 20% discount will be applied to all reservations whose check-out date is before December 28th. The promotion applies to bookings of any duration. Another novelty: traditional Russian cuisine lands in the Maldives. Paying homage to Russian cultural background and traditions, the resort’s chefs, prepared by renowned Russian chef Nikita Martynov, will wow guests with a range of traditional New Year’s salads and appetizers, as well as smoked fish, caviar, jellies and cured meats. Luxury in safety
To ensure the safest environment, Emerald has implemented several measures. These include: COVID-19 tests available on site, temperature checks and disinfection of luggage surfaces. And then, a UV light disinfectant for mobile sterilization, an electrostatic sprayer with quality disinfectants used to clean villas and all other public areas. It has also appointed a hygiene manager who works as a team with the resort doctor. These measures have been verified and approved by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a division of ISSA, the global association of the detention industry. Emerald is the first resort in the Maldives to be awarded the GBAC STAR certificate.
