Traveling from home: take note of these 6 destinations

Where will 2020 take us?
While we are waiting to start traveling again,
here are some hints to plan your next holidays

Take a globe, make it spin, close your eyes and stop it. What’s your next destination? It would be amazing to do it, take a flight and leave, right now or tomorrow. Unfortunately, in this period our duty is to stay home.

We’ll have time to travel, so why don’t we take advantage of this moment to design every detail of our dream itinerary? It could be the opportunity to visit that place that every year we put in our bucket list, that project that for whatever reason never came true.

1 – Italy, Veneto. Let’s go up to Northern Italy. We have to mention Veneto as ‘best destination’ since it’s the most visited region in Italy and even if its slogan is The Land of Venice, its treasure chest is full of gems. In addition to the magic of Venice, here are the Dolomites and Cortina d’Ampezzo aka the queen of the mountains, Lake Garda, the hills of Prosecco in Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, without forgetting about the romantic Verona, the home of Romeo and Juliet and the long journey along the Brenta River to discover the Palladian villas. The portal of Regione Veneto offers a lot of interesting hints that we can discover during these days at home. Moreover, soon it’ll be available an App called Veneto Outdoor, presented at BIT 2020. It will include paths to visit this wonderful land on foot, walking in the snow, by bike and riding a horse.

2 – Italy, Campania. Without leaving Italy, Campania could be one of the destination for your wish list. ‘Campania, where the energy of volcanos meets the charm of ancient times, the beauty of nature and the candor of creativity. A world of contrasts that gives you some magic’. This is how Lonely Planet introduced this region. And honestly, from Naples to Cilento, Pompeii, Sorrento and the islands such as Capri and Ischia, visitors can choose how to modulate their holiday. Those who seek art and history, but also food lovers and all those who want to enjoy the sea, will never get bored.

3- Italy, Abruzzo. We are still in Italy and Abruzzo is the ideal destination for people who like cycling. This region is acquiring more and more a green identity, it’s the ‘greenest’ region in Europe, in fact, one third of the territory includes national parks and nature reserves. The project Abruzzo Bike friendly was born to satisfy those who want to explore this region by bike, enjoy the landscape and pay attention to sustainability. Nobody will be disappointed by the network of cycle lanes such as the so-called Bike to Coast, 130 km to plunge into the charm of the coast.

All around the world

4 – Montecarlo, Principality of Monaco. A few kilometers out of Italy, there’s a true…jewel! Here is the Principality of Monaco. Many people consider this place a very exclusive and sophisticated destination that became famous thanks to royal gossip and Formula One. But, a day in Montecarlo can hide some nice surprises. To miss a stop at Place du Casino – and test your luck – or a walk around the Jardin Exotique de Monaco would be a pity. This botanic garden seriously enchants the visitors taking them around its paths to fully enjoy the best observation points of French Riviera. During these days at home, it’s possible to explore the Principality thanks to VisitMonaco360, a digital platform to learn the secrets of this pearl overlooking the sea and imagine its colors and scents.

5 – Testour and El Jem, Tunisia. If we stay in the Mediterranean, let’s fall in love with Tunisia. It’s not necessary to underline how many iconic places we can find in this country, among them, bear in mind Testour and El Jem. The first one, that has an Arab-Andalusian soul, is not too far from Tunis and in addition of being famous for its history, it’s also the right destination for any melomaniac who is attracted by the Malouf, a music genre characterized by Andalusian acoustics. El Jem is imbued with Roman culture. Here you can find the third largest arena in the world after Colosseum and the arena in Capua. Take a look at the city’s museum where it’s easy to recognize a lot of architectural elements from ancient villas and public buildings.

6 – Tortola, British Virgin Islands. And in the end, since there’s no reason to stop our imagination, why don’t we go overseas? Sea, beaches and relax: here is what you can find if you visit the British Virgin Islands. This volcanic archipelago, whose main islands are Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Anegada will astonish everybody especially who loves nature.

– The capital is Road Town and deserves to be visited at least for a couple of hours just to walk around the local shops or enjoy a meal overlooking the ocean. Many breathtaking adventures can be lived, take note – for example – of the Virgin Canopy Tour, an adrenaline zip-line invented to ‘fly’ and see Tortola from the top, a fun entertainment for family.
