Viborg

September 2020 sees a new 4-star opening in Viborg, central Jutland. The Peak 12º Hotel will open with 150 rooms set over 12 floors and a commitment to comfort and sustainability.

Copenhagen

Hotel Kong Arthur has expanded with 64 new spacious rooms. The central hotel now offers 214 rooms, including a number of penthouse studios complete with kitchenette and private roof terraces.

A brand new 186-room hotel will open in 2022 close to the Bella Center, the city’s largest congress and convention venue, and right next to the Bella Center Metro Station (M1 line). The Ibis Styles Hotel is aimed at business and leisure travelers and is part of a 14,300m2 extension to new corporate office complex Nest45.

Two new hotels are on the way from successful German hotel brand 25Hours Hotels. First in June 2021, the chain will open the 243-room Hotel Round Tower next to the city’s Rundetårn, located in a former porcelain factory with a private courtyard, wellness area and several restaurants. Then in early 2024, the brand plans to open a second property on Paper Island, with 128 rooms set across a hotel building with a rooftop bar, two adjacent houseboats and a restaurant and café. It will be located next to the city’s new landmark aquatic centre, due to open in 2025.

Tivoli Hotel & Congress Centre has added a luxurious semi floating swimming pool, located 12 floors above street level. Access to the Penthouse Pool is for adults only, as long as they are staying in a Junior Suite, Suite or Exclusive Room. The hotel will be connected to Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli Gardens by walkways and leafy plazas when the city’s new business and commercial district, Postgrunden, is completed in 2024.

A new extension to the Charlottehaven aparthotel in Østerbro opens in February 2020, offering 37 new studios and apartments for short-term stays in a newly constructed high-rise building designed by leading Danish design practice Lundgaard & Tranberg. The residential tower also includes a small meeting room.

Looking further into the future, JOYN Hotels will open their first aparthotel in Scandinavia in 2022. Locaed in Engholmene, south central Copenhagen, the 248 serviced studio apartments are designed for short-term and long-term stays for business and leisure travellers. There will also be a new 236-apartment aparthotel from Locke Hotels in the new Postgrunden district in 2024, complete with co-working facilities and all-day dining services.
